NORCAL-HUG membership

NORCAL-HUG membership is open to anyone residing in Northern California with an interest in the Haiku Operating System, and it's free. To become a member, all you have to do is create an account on this site.

How to become a member

Follow the steps shown below to create your account and become a NORCAL-HUG member:

  • Click on the ADD ACCT (add account) icon on the upper right corner of the screen.
  • Fill in the User Account form and click on the [Create new account] button at the bottom of the page. You can check whether the username you choose is available or not by using the [Check availability] button.
  • Check your email. You should receive a message with the details about your account, including a one time login link
  • Click on the login link in the confirmation email to open your Account Profile page.

User Locations Map

In order to foster networking between members, we have implemented a Google Maps based system that allows you to view where NORCAL-HUG members are located.

How to enter your geographic location

This system depends on members entering geographic information into their account profile. We encourage you to enter the location of where you live, which can be easily done as follows:

  • Log on to the site.
  • Click on the Profile icon (upper right corner), select the Edit tab, and then click on Location map link.
  • Locate the area where you live in the map interactively; you can move the map by mouse-dragging it, and you can zoom in and out.
  • Click on your location of residence in the map. Alternatively, you can manual enter the Latitude and Longitude manually.
  • Click the [Submit] button at the bottom of the page. that will set your coordinates. To verify that your location has been recorded, check the User Locations Map.
